Fitted x Eighty Four Skate Co. x Vans... Off The Wallows!

Our friend Rene Matthyssen, co-owner of FITTED Hawaii along with Eighty Four Skate Co. and Vans will be releasing their Era Pro this coming Monday, Feb. 14th (Valentine’s Day) with only 75 pairs available.

Aloha kakou!

This Monday, Valentine’s Day, we’re finally releasing our second footwear project. As you know by now, we’ve teamed up with Eighty Four Skate Co. and Vans to construct a Vans model. The model for this Vans is an Era Pro constructed of black linen with single stitch embroidering in a multitude of colors as seen on our O.G. black kala. For those who may not have been around for our Kala releases, we’ll give you a small rundown on this: Kala roughly translates to money in Hawaiian, and you know all the saying: “Money is the root of all evil.”We’ve flipped this concept into something a lot more positive. We’re extremely excited about this project and has been a long-time coming! For the Vans, there are only 75 pairs. Releasing with this pack is an all black tanktop with white all over Kala print and an all black t-shirt flipping the Vans Off the Wall graphics into Hawaii: Off the Wallows. - FITTED

Arkitip Intel

Arkitip has been supporting the Solitary Arts since day one as the first magazine to run our ads consistently over the past few years.  It's a no-brainer for us to share our continued support for them and their updated site.

- We are excited to share the recent update to the Arkitip Intel with our loyal and dedicated readers. The goal was to maintain the look and feel but upgrade how content is provided. - Arkitip Intel

Takashi and Junko

Photographer and writer, Takashi Tomita and his wife, Junko came by the new Solitary Arts office before making their way down to Southern California last week.  They're the ones that have been making sure we get a steady stream of BLUE magazine out of Japan for the past few years.  Great to see you guys, safe travels and as always, mahalo for the support.

CONTRAST Magazine 05

Todd Shimabuku (In4mation) linked Geoff McFetridge and myself with Mark Kushimi of CONTRAST magazine a few months ago.   Contrast is on issue No. 05 and coming straight out of my home-island of Oahu, Hawaii with consistently good content and great contributors.  Mark was generous with allowing Geoff to work on, "The Geeks" cover along with a 10 page insert of the upcoming Solitary Arts Times.  It's the precursor to the full-length Times, which will be twice the size with a pull-out, double-sided poster (Kyle Field on one side and Geoff's artwork on the other).  We're honored to be featured in Contrast and thank Mark for his overwhelming support. Contrast is free so pick-one up if you're in the islands.  You can also order one from Hawaii through their site, HERE

The next 10 online orders will get a copy with their package, compliments from Contrast and the Solitary Arts.

Mahalo!

Broadcast Wheels

Friend of the Solitary Arts, Kelly D. Williams sent us a Broadcast Wheel care-package.  Kelly not only owns and operates Broadcast, but does a bunch of other stuff that you can check-out here.  Mahalo Kelly!

Jonah Miller in SF, via Donny Barley

Donny Barley asked if I could host Jonah Miller for a few days while he was out in San Francisco recently.  I met him at a skatepark, we rolled for a bit and ate a burrito before heading to the new office to check-out his design portfolio.  Nice work and with a recent Harvard degree and a down-to-earth attitude, Jonah seems to have that winning combination for success.  We wish you the best, from the West.

St. Helena Session...

Headed north to St. Helena with Bob Lake, Tara Jepsen, Jerry Beitzell, and our buddy, Isaac McKay-Randozzi, who took some shots for us on this beautiful day as we partook in a great session up in the wine country. Once we get the video clips together, we'll make a quick edit from the session to share.  Good times!

More photos from Isaac from this day at Color Magazine.
